Member: Anna Nelson
Anna Nelson is a licensed independent social worker providing direct services, programmatic consultation and policy development in New Mexico since 1998. Skilled in linking adolescent health outcomes to violence prevention and resiliency, Ms. Nelson developed and promoted New Mexico’s Teen Dating Violence Prevention initiative, successfully training over 4000 youth and adults statewide. A co-leader in facilitating House Memorial 53, the study of teen dating violence, Ms. Nelson currently serves as the behavioral health manager for New Mexico Department of Health Office of School and Adolescent Health and adjunct professor teaching family violence at New Mexico State University. Finally, Ms. Nelson was awarded the Robert Wood Johnson Ladder to Leadership Fellowship in 2009.
